ABOUT Custom Sleep Technology Inc.

Custom Sleep Technology Inc. (CST) manufactures and markets sleep products that are constructed specifically for each individual’s unique body characteristics. In May 2021, CST’s three owner-partners were issued a U.S. Patent for their Custom Foam Mattress Design System. CST was originally started in 2008 under the name of Custom Sleep Design by two founders: Robert Zukowski (with deep roots in the mattress industry) and Bernie.

CST now operates a retail/fabrication facility in Shelton, CT., where they can offer hundreds of mattress configurations due to the modular design of their products.

One of the most unique features of their mattress products is that they can be modified if the body characteristics of the user(s) change or one or more of the internal components fail over time. This is all accomplished in the home with no need to remove the mattress. “It’s the last mattress you’ll ever buy.”

By utilizing the body measurements of each sleeper, CST determines the required ILD/IFD (softness) and foam densities of each layer and segment on each side of the mattress and/or mattress topper to minimize pressure points and place the spine in a natural and stress-free position. CST can also address specific physical issues that customers experience.

CST Inc. currently holds 2 mattress design patents and 1 method patent. The method patent incorporates the use of body measurements into the specific designs of the various layers and segments within the mattress. CST Inc. has now integrated its Body Profile Technology^TM and AI design analysis into its website customer service process. This means that when someone fills out their Body Profile Questionnaire, they receive a proposal for a mathematically designed mattress tailored to their individual metrics.

About Bob Zukowski (President and Co-Founder) and Company Timeline:

Bob Zukowski is a former executive of Talalay Global (Latex International). In 2001 Bob began his journey in the mattress industry. Working with many of the major mattress manufacturers, he helped them create new product offerings utilizing Talalay Latex.

In 2009, Bob started his own company, Custom Sleep Design, where the concept of truly personalized bedding was born. In 2017, Custom Sleep Technology was formed to build products that are based on engineering principles and not on marketing hyperbole. CST’s first patent was issued in May of 2021 for our Custom Foam Mattress Design System. Today CST has a second patent about to be issued.

Modular Design:
CST’s modular design concept utilizes multiple densities of Talalay Latex to support the hips and shoulders separately. This allows the spine to take a more natural and stress-free position eliminating strain on the back and shoulders. Every mattress and topper is constructed based on the user’s body profile and can be modified indefinitely as the sleeper’s body, needs, and preferences change overtime.
