TMU Reporting System Integration Guide – WordPress

Test Product Setup

Please create a temporary test product so TMU can place a test order and verify that the reporting system is working correctly. Use the following settings:

  • Name: TMU Test Product
  • Price: $2 (two dollars)
  • Shipping Cost: $1 (one dollar)

Keep the product hidden from your website, but send us the direct product URL so we can complete the test purchase.

TMU Discount Coupon

Please confirm that your TMU coupon (e.g., TMU6) is active and applies the agreed TMU discount (e.g., 6%) to the order.

Plugin Installation

The TMU Tracking plugin is already pre-configured, so there are no settings for you to enter. Simply follow the instructions below to:

Install → Activate → Purge Cache → Confirm It’s Running

Once active, the plugin allows TMU to track approved referral activity and on-site funnel events on your website.

Step 1: Download the Plugin

Download and save the latest TMU Tracking plugin ZIP file provided to you by The Mattress Underground.

Do not unzip the file!

Step 2: Upload the Plugin in WordPress

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin area.
  2. Go to Plugins  →  Add New Plugin.
  3. Click Upload Plugin.
  4. Select the TMU Tracking ZIP file.
  5. Click Install Now.

Step 3: Activate the Plugin

After installation is complete, click Activate Plugin → No additional setup is required.

Step 4: Purge All Site Caches

Because the plugin adds tracking code to your website, cached pages may not immediately contain the new code.

After activation, perform a full cache purge for any caching systems your site uses, including:

    • Your WordPress caching plugin
    • Server or hosting cache
    • CDN cache
    • Cloudflare, if applicable

Important: Purge the entire site, not a partial one

This is normally required only after initial activation and future plugin updates.

Step 5: Confirm That the Plugin Is Running

After activating the plugin and clearing your caches, complete these two checks:

A. Check Your Website

Open your website in a private/incognito browser window and visit a few public pages. → The site should load normally with no obvious layout or functionality problems.

B. Check the plugin status URL

‼️ Enter the following URL in your browser, replacing yourdomain.com with your actual website domain:

https://yourdomain.com/wp-json/tmu-tracking/v1/status

If the plugin is active and configured correctly, you should see:

Step 6: If Something Does Not Work

If the status message is different or contains “false”:

    1. Confirm that the TMU Tracking plugin is installed and activated in WordPress.
    2. Purge all site caches again, including Cloudflare if applicable.
    3. Check the status URL again.
    4. If the issue remains, contact The Mattress Underground and let us know that installation is complete but the status check is not displaying correctly.

Completion Checklist

Before letting us know installation is complete, confirm that:

    • ✓ Plugin is installed and activated
    • ✓ All applicable caches have been purged
    • ✓ Website pages load normally
    • ✓ Plugin status shows “true”
