Sleeping Organic is a family-owned, direct-to-consumer natural latex mattress company based in North Charleston, South Carolina, with nearly two decades of experience specializing in customizable, component-style latex sleep systems. Behind Sleeping Organic are Brandon Maxey and Chris Mullins, who oversee the company’s continued development while maintaining a practical, individualized approach to latex mattress customization and consumer guidance. The company offers natural latex mattresses, toppers, pillows, foundations, adjustable bases, and bedding to consumers throughout the continental United States.
Sleeping Organic’s mattresses are made to order using configurable layers of GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex and/or natural Talalay, paired with organic cotton and natural wool. Their component-style design allows consumers to customize firmness, create split configurations for couples, and access individual layers through a zippered cover for future comfort adjustments.
The company also offers a 365-day comfort program, 20-year mattress warranty, and direct guidance to help consumers choose appropriate latex types, firmnesses, and layer configurations.
Operations & Fulfillment: Sleeping Organic is headquartered in North Charleston, South Carolina, where it maintains its showroom and operations, and also utilizes fulfillment resources in Arizona to support nationwide order fulfillment.

About Brandon Maxey / Sleeping Organic
Brandon Maxey is co-founder of Sleeping Organic and has worked hands-on with customizable natural latex mattresses since 2007. His experience spans mattress configuration, showroom consultations, comfort troubleshooting, and the practical realities of helping consumers fine-tune layered latex systems after they have slept on them in their own homes.
Much of that expertise has been developed through years of working directly with consumers whose initial configuration needed adjustment. Because layered latex mattresses can be opened and modified, Brandon has had an unusual opportunity to observe how latex type, firmness, layer position, body type, sleeping position, and individual sensitivities interact in real-world use—experience that goes well beyond interpreting an ILD number or specification sheet.
Through Sleeping Organic’s long-running comfort-adjustment program, he has helped troubleshoot a wide range of configurations, including different firmness needs between partners, layer exchanges, unusual body profiles, and non-standard mattress applications. That accumulated feedback gives Brandon a practical, consumer-focused perspective on how customizable latex systems behave over time and how small changes in construction can meaningfully affect comfort and support.
